JUBILEE KIDS
Jubilee Kids features songs, stories, and activities that introduce the faith to kids
ages 3 - 6. Parents are encouraged to join their children in these sessions. However, parents who are taking older kids to the
GIFT for Families sessions (which run at the same time) are welcome to
leave younger kids here for the hour.Children attending Jubilee Kids will:
- be introduced to the foundational stories of the faith, both from the Bible and the lives of the saints;
- learn basic Catholic beliefs and practices, in an age-appropriate way;
- be introduced to basic Catholic prayers, as well as the words, symbols and actions that mark the Catholic liturgy;
- learn how Catholics celebrate and practice their faith at home!
Jubilee Kids will be coached by Brianna Ellings and Chris Polachek. Brianna Ellings teaches grades 1-3 (E!) at Bluffview Montessori School, and is certified in the Montessori method. Chris Polachek is a classroom assistant in the Children's House (preschool and kindergarten) at Bluffview Montessori School. Both have previous experience leading children's faith formation.
Curriculum
The curriculum is loosely based on The Big Book of Catholic Customs and Traditions for Children’s Faith Formation, which is based on
the liturgical calendar. Parents may also wish to purchase the Catholic Book of Bible Stories.
Schedule
Jubilee Kids will be held every first and third Wednesday night from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Parish from September through April.
